About the event

The Forest School model of education is gaining momentum here in the PNW, and one of the primary intentions is to reconnect our youth back to the Earth and land they are living on (Cedar Song Way). But what about the adults? How are we to maintain and implement these principles our children are learning if we are needing to unwind our own capitalist based frameworks. How can we as adults come back into a reciprocal relationship with the earth in order to link up to our children and begin to make true change?

Forest School for adults is for folks 25+ to return back to the prinicples of the Earth in order to return to their own inner worth. You do not have to tend to children to take this class either! How can rebuilding a relationship to the Earth support you in your inner and outer work as a human? We will use lenses of creative imagination, Coyote Mentoring, nature journaling, homesteading and good basic forms of play to reestablish our connection to ourselves in relation to the natural world. Come explore on 20 acres of forested land and make time to slow down, for yourself and for the Earth.

This is a three class series and each class builds on the previous one, classes can be taken individually. We will meet over a period of three months in order to respect our personal time, integrate the learning and build a solid container of community. We here at Wild Cascara feel it is important to shift from a "one and done" workshop to a slower model of learning. We also believe in creating authentic containers for folks of all backgrounds to be seen, heard, valued and cared for. We do not tolerate dualistic thinking, but rather seek to support creative questioning and curiosity.

Our series will meet:

Saturday September 23rd: Introduction to Forest School and Naturalist School

Saturday October 14th: Finding the Inner Path

Saturday November 4th: Integration of our Wild Selves

Class runs from 10am to 3:30pm. We ask that you allow for time to arrive, park and settle into the space; soft opening at 10 am, circle begins at 10:30am.
